What is Companions and Small Faith Sharing Groups?
Companions on the Journey is our faith-sharing program. Faith sharing is scripture based but is not a Bible Study. It involves connecting our everyday life to our faith and our common faith stories and traditions so that both are enlivened and supported. Groups of eight to twelve individuals gather together once a week for a six week session twice a year. (Some groups decide to continue meeting throughout the entire year as well.) The groups meet for about an hour and a half at each session to share their journeys and life experiences as they get to know each other. Our Companions on the Journey program reflects our continued commitment to honor the presence of God in our lives and to support one another’s efforts to work, play, and live in the company of God’s presence each day.
As we share in small faith-sharing groups, we find there are always new insights that we receive from the Scriptures, insights that benefit us the rest of our lives. By reading, reflecting, and sharing on the upcoming weekend readings with others, we discover that God is speaking to us directly. As a result, the Mass itself becomes more meaningful, more alive!
Groups are formed before Advent (ending just before Thanksgiving) and during Lent. Watch for verbal and bulletin announcements.
