The Education Committee guides the continuing education for parishioners of all ages. Providing continuing education within the parish enables us to grow in the knowledge of God and to develop spiritual lives. Various programs facilitate this growth and development; they include: Pre CANA (marriage preparation), Post CANA (marriage enrichment for the newly married), Infant Baptism Preparation, Faith Formation, RCIA (sacrament preparation for adults), Rainbows (for children), Youth Group, Adult Education programs.

Faith Formation
Parents are the first and foremost primary educators of their children in the faith. By word and example, parents teach their children about the love of God in the family or domestic church. However, the parish staff supports and partners with parents in the religious education and spiritual growth of their children through the various programs offered in the parish. These include:

Religious Education Programs:
G.I.F.T. Growing in Faith Together: an intergenerational program open to all households of the parish, ages 3-103. Required for families with children during the first year of formal religious education (usually first grade). Monthly sessions are held Friday Afternoons from 4 - 6:30pm and Saturdays 10am -12:30pm, September -April. Families may attend either session (Friday or Saturday). Sessions include focusing on Scripture and the teachings of the Church followed by activities to be completed at home.

Families with children in grades 2-6 may also choose G.I.F.T. as their primary religious education program instead of the summer program, or they may choose to participate in both the summer program AND G.I.F.T.

Families may register for the two-year program when a child has reached age 6 (or 1st grade), Interviews with the family take place at entry to the program and midway through the process. Includes participation in the Liturgy of the Word for Children (9am Mass), participation in G.I.F.T. the first year and either G.I.F.T. or the summer program the second year, and participation in additional family sessions during the second year focusing on celebration of the sacraments.

Summer Program:
Children ages 7-11 (or grades 2-6) may register for this ten-day program. Sessions are held three times in July and August (two morning sessions and one evening session). Focus is on Scripture and the teachings of the church.

Confirmation Preparation:
Families may register for the two-year program when a child has reached age 11 (or is entering 6th grade). Interviews with the family take place at entry to the program and midway through the process. Includes participation at weekly Mass, participation in G.I.F.T. or the Summer Program during the first year (Grade 6), participation in the stewardship of Time and Talent, and participation in family sessions during the second year (Grade 7) and days of prayer and retreat.
