Music Notes
Music for the Sprinkling Rite
Throughout the Easter season until the last weekend of May (Pentecost), we will replace our Penitential Rite at mass with the Sprinkling Rite. During the Sprinkling Rite, we will sing the words "I saw water flowing, flowing from the side of the temple. And where the water streamed, there was the promise of new life." This text is taken from the new Roman Missal and is based on Ezekiel chapter 47, verses 1-2 and 9.
An Example for Others
Our music selections for mass - along with that of about a dozen other churches - will now be shared with other parishes throughout the country on "The Sunday Website," which is run by the liturgy department of Saint Louis University. If you visit the Saint Louis University website, select any Sunday and click on Music of Sunday's Mass, you will find the music from our parish for that particular weekend. This website is used by liturgy planners and music ministers around the country to help plan and get ideas for music at mass. It's an honor to have our parish and music ministry included in this great resource.
