I'm New Here
Welcome!
we want you to feel at home in god's house
The parish family of the Church of Saint Anselm is happy to meet and greet you.
We are a stewardship community whose members share their Time, Talents and Treasure with the parish and the surrounding communities, especially our sisters and brothers in need of help: spiritually, financially or any other way.
Below are answers to some frequently asked questions. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to contact us or talk with a minister of hospitality when you visit.
Our Mass Schedule can be found here:
Our Confession schedule is here:
What should I wear?
We want you to feel comfortable. Many in our parish family choose to dress casually. Others prefer to still put on their "Sunday best," and that's fine too! We ask that your clothing should be respectable and that you avoid wearing any images, logos or slogans that might be considered offensive or confrontational.
How do I get to Saint Anselm?
Our parish is located at 1028 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07712. Here is a map.
Where should I park?
Please park in the lined spaces in both lots and respect the spaces set aside for our parishioners with physical limitations.
Where do my children go?
We welcome every family to sit together in our Worship Area, from infant through great-great. If parents are concerned about a child potentially disrupting the liturgy, we live-stream the Mass to our Learning Center, a large multi-purpose room at the rear of the Worship Area.
I’m not Catholic. How do I know when to sit or stand?
Most visitors just follow the lead of our parishioners. We offer worship aids to everyone as they arrive, and these provide you with the order of the Mass, the hymns and chants, and the words to each prayer. If you didn't receive a worship aid when you arrived ask a minister of hospitality, and they will be happy to bring you one.
I’m not Catholic. Is it okay for me to receive Communion?
If you are not Catholic, we ask that you not receive Communion. However, those not receiving the Body of Christ are invited to come forward with their hands crossed over their chests for a special blessing.
Communion, or The Eucharist, is the most intimate expression of our faith. Catholics believe that the host is literally the body of Christ, transformed from bread by the presiding priest. Most evangelicals think of Communion as symbolic, so it makes sense that they are not as strict about having the right relationship to it as Catholics and Orthodox Christians who believe it is a sacrament and the true presence of Christ.
Should I donate to the collection?
If you are visiting with us, we don't expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to let the basket pass you by. If you consider our parish your church home, we'd love for you to prayerfully consider giving to our parish on a weekly basis. You can give by check or cash during Mass, or you can sign up for online giving here.
I have a hearing problem. Is there special assistance?
Yes, we offer hearing assistance. Please ask a minister of hospitality.
